Health facility-based investigation of adverse effects

In July 2025, two teams composed of three persons each (two from ABREMA and one from YOWLI BURUNDI) conducted a two-day investigation in six health facilities which have reported adverse effects following immunization and or medication or medicines suspected with low quality. The six health facilities included three surveillance site sentinels as well as other three health facilities including three hospitals, and three primary health facilities. The concerned medicines were the anaesthetic Bupivacaine and gloves. Detailed data regarding notified cases were collected and will be analysed for causality assessment.
