I ama young woman of 24 years old, member of YOWLI Burundi and one of the founder committee. Currently I am involved in YOWLI Burundi executive committee as Vice President of the Executive secretariat.
I completed my university education in 2012 at Burundi University, faculty of psychology and education sciences; especially I am graduated as a social and clinic Psychologist.
Concerning my career and experience as a young woman activist, my interesting domains include taking care of women victims of sexual harassment and other gender based violence, advocate for disadvantaged women (rural and poor), psychosocial assistance and care to some vulnerable groups such as: stray children commonly called Road children, patients having mental problems, preventing the use of addictive substances such as tobacco and excessive consumption of alcohol. I am highly interested and committed in MDGs and PoA ICPDs issues since I attended on behalf of Burundi youth delegate to the Global Youth Forum titled ICPD BEYOND 2014, held in Bali , Indonesia from , 4 – 6 of December 2012.
That world event was an excellent opportunity for me to enlarge my leadership skills and raise awareness about Burundian youth aspirations and thoughts.
From Mishiha College to Ruyigi at Notre Dame de la Joie Lycee, I was involved in activities requiring leadership experiences:
- I helped pupils from those both lycee to improve their skills regarding human rights, tackling HIV/AIDS epidemic trough many clubs on the above described issues.
- 2004, I was the first lady to be elected as “General Representative” at Mishiha college
Now I ‘am equipped and empowered with further skills from my training at SOCABU (Societe d’Assurance du Burundi) where I was in charge of Relations between Employers and employees.
Nowadays, I have a sufficient experience in issues related to Gender based violence, HIV/AIDS, Sexual and reproductive health since I am one of the youth trained bythe United Nations Fund for Population Agency.
